Churchill Downs was the scene of the 17th Breeders' Cup on Saturday Nov 4th. This was a record fifth time that Churchill has hosted the affair. Rumors are that it will become the permanent home of the cup. Let's hope the rumors are wrong.

Owner- Breeder Trudy McCaffery has organized a non-profit organization to promote interest in thoroughbred  racing and horses in general among young people. On hand from the group were from l to r: Sean Feld, Tasha Langley, Lauren Emery, Amelia Baldree, Katie Merritt and Sophia McKee. For info on the group go to www.kttc.org

Jockey Gary Stevens  came out of retirement to capture three wins on the card. In the first Gary scored on Chilukki in the Grade II Churchill Downs Distaff Handicap. Gary then won the second on Meetyouathebrig. Later Gary would capture the Breeders' Cup Mile on favored War Chant. Not a bad day for someone coming out of retirement.
