After three years of close finishes in the BC Sprint Kona Gold found the winner's circle this year. Kona Gold not only won this one but also broke the 14-year-old track record by over a second. The 1:07.77 also set a Breeders' Cup record for the sprint. |

Kona Gold's victory was the First win for jockey Alex Solis in 31 tries. "The monkey is off my back." said Solis who has had six second place finishes and a pair of thirds in previous attempts.
