With his second win at Belmont Park this year (the first was The Manhattan on Belmont Stakes Day) Cacique ensured himself a trip to the starting gate on Breeders' Cup Day. The five-year-old Danehill colt started his career in Europe and will enter stud at Banstead Manor in Newmarket, England in 2007. Local favorite, the three-year-old Showing Up ,ran well, gaining the lead at the turn. but couldn't hold off Cacique.
