Bushfire's win in The Mother Goose, combined with her Acorn win, puts her in position to become the first filly to capture New York's Triple Tiara since Sky Beauty in 1993. A win in The Coaching Club American Oaks would give her that honor,  but it is unlikely that  her connections will opt to have her run, feeling there is not enough time between the races. The Louis Quatorze filly will more likely be aimed toward The Alabama at Saratoga in mid-August. Favorite Lemons Forever, who won The Kentucky Oaks, was not a factor in The Mother Goose and the lightly raced Pine Island showed a lot of promise closing strongly to miss by 3/4 of a length.
