A crowd of 5625 turned out on a warm sunny Saturday at Rockingham park for the 21st running of the New Hampshire Sweepstakes. A field of ten went to post with the New York based Hammi the 2-1 favorite. Where's Taylor a promising turf horse who started his career at the Rock returned home as the second choice. |

Inexplicable heads into paddock |
At the top of the stretch it looked as if Where's Taylor was drawing away from the field. Jose Santos on Inexplicable, in a carefully measured ride, caught the local favorite in what was to be a head bobbing finish. The time of 1:45.04 was .66 second faster than the record set by Kiri's Clown set in 1995. While the connections of Inexplicable didn't comment on his future plans, Where's Taylor will be pointed towards Arlington Park. |
