Joseph Dirico's Auntie Millie picked the right time to
gain her first win as she surged to the lead in deep stretch and won The
Amelia Peabody Stakes for Mass Bred two-year-old fillies at six furlongs
on a beautiful late autumn day at Suffolk Downs. John Murphy's Flirt For
Fame was sent to the gate as the heavy favorite off an impressive showing
on October 18th when she won in open company at first asking. She weakened
after battling through the turn with Shamrock Patty. Sassy Splash made a
late run, but Auntie Millie was able to hold on for the length-and-
three-quarter victory. Auntie Millie is trained by Tom McCooey and was
ridden by ridden by Edwin Molinari.
