Last year on Wood Memorial Day Forest Danger won The Bay Shore
before a hairline fracture ended his season. His come from behind
victory in The Carter Handicap stamped him as a serious contender in
this year's handicap division. Forest Danger and Rafael Bejarano
passed the tiring Don Six (photo) in late stretch and crossed the line in
1:20.46 missing the track record by 2/5's of a second. The bay son of
Forestry is owned by Aaron & Marie Jones and trained by Todd
Pletcher. We may see him again in The Met Mile.

In an amazing performance Kinsman Stable's Bellamy Road
turned this year's Wood Memorial into a public workout and stamped
himself as the favorite in The Kentucky Derby in four weeks. Javier
Castellano gunned Bellamy Road to the front (photo) right out of the
gate and led at every pole. The ten length lead at the turn expanded to seventeen
and a half at the line and the time of 1:47.16 tied the track
record set by Riva Ridge in 1973 and broke the stakes record set by
Private Terms in 1988.
